Santa Monica Festival 2010

On May 8, Santa Monica’s Clover Park is home to the 19th annual installment of Santa Monica Festival 2010, a zero-waste festival featuring music, dance, art, shopping, eco-friendly workshops and most important (to us) food. This year’s vendors in the Global Café include Mama’s Hot Tamales, North Shore Hawaiian BBQ, Cha Cha Chicken, northeastern Thai dishes from May’s Thai Food, corn lavished with butter, chile, lime and salt from Señor Corn, chocolate covered strawberry sundaes from King Kone, Hawaiian Ice, Lindes Almonds & Kettle Corn, organic, fair-trade coffee from Groundwork and fresh produce from the Santa Monica Farmers Market.

To stay waste-free, both stages are solar powered, recycling and composting will be in full effect and the Eco Zone is offering free reusable bags, demos and information booths.

Santa Monica Festival 2010 lasts from 11 AM – 6 PM at 2600 Ocean Park Boulevard. Admission, bike valet and parking are all free. People who pedal to the festival will be entered in a free raffle to win a brand new bike. [Feast LA]
