Santa Monica Pier Twilight Dance Series Opens

Oh that big, long, plank-y, Ferris Wheel-laden, stuffed-toy-fried-food-Skee-Ball heaven of an ocean-topping attraction. We're crazy for you, Santa Monica Pier, and not just because you're a movie star ("Iron Man," yes, but also "The Sting"), and not just because you're romantic and crazy and packed as all get-out on a warm summer night, and not just because the original Hot Dog on a Stick is battering up yummy meaty snackage only steps away.

But just because. And also because you throw the Twilight Dance Series every summer, which is free and attracts big-name acts and is on Thursday nights and the hours are 7-10PM and... And. And. Just and.

Joan Baez and Lila Downs and Squirrel Nut Zippers and many nice and cool and get-up-and-move artists are straight ahead in summer '09. Up on Thursday, July 2nd, the opening night of Twilight Dance: Playing for Change Band, with Bushman.
