Shipping Containers Go Mixed-Use in Venice

There have been shipping container schools, homes, and hotels, but check out these shots of a mixed-use shipping container project in Venice. The latest from architect Peter DeMaria, the development at 1312 South Innes Place uses 14 cargo containers and has two residential units that are each about 1,200 square feet. There is also a small retail component on the street level (facing Main Street). The folks at DeMaria's office tell us that while the owner built this project, it's unclear whether he will sell or keep the units.
