Shoe Pavilion Closing After 29 Years: The Sherman Oaks-based shoe discounter—”once known…

The Sherman Oaks-based shoe discounter—"once known as the largest independent off-price footwear retailer on the West Coast" with stores in California, Washington, Oregon and New Mexico—is closing shop after 29 years in the biz. The Press-Telegram reports there are currently going-out-of-business sales at 64 of its stores, which should run for 10-12 weeks. Labels such as Esprit, Puma, Clarks, Dexter, Skechers and Timberland which already sell at 30%-70% off retail will be on even steeper discount. No word on which Shoe Pavilions are having the blowout sale, however. [Press-Telegram, Photo via Flickr/Watson 21]For more stories from Racked LA, go to la.racked.com.
