Shore Hotel: Elopements and Sandcastles

Two different packages are in the Santa Monica spotlight.

TWO DISTINCT CHOICES: Very often a hotel will post a few package or deals that dovetail together so clearly that you have to read the fine print to discern how the asterisks differ. That works a-ok by most people; a hotel should spotlight what it does best. But what if you're a hotel, and you're really good in the romance department, and you happen to be just a short walk from a sandy, filled-with-sand, oh-so-sandtastic beach? You kind of want to play up both of those notable strengths. The Shore Hotel of Santa Monica is doing just that, during this late-winter season, with both a pair of packages focusing on elopement -- yep, elopement, not weddings or traditional honeymoons -- and a package that's all about sandcastle superstardom.

JUST US TWO and SOMETHING NEW: The pair of packages developed for duos who want an intimate wedding experience -- as in elopement intimate, no muss, no fuss, and no worrying about party favors or guest books -- just kicked off at the start of February. But this is no Valentine's to-do that'll end when the month wraps; both packages are available through the end of the year. Just Us Two is for one night, Something New boasts two, and Los Angeles Beach Weddings will help officiate whatever you need officiating in the nuptial department. Does this appeal? Something streamlined and solely about your future spouse? Do the wedding march this way for more details.

SAND CASTLES AT THE SHORE: The other eye-catcher of a package is as distinct, though we'd love to see someone combine the two. Who has ever had a beach wedding where the marrying pair builds a castle together? So symbolic. This should be tried. In the meantime, you can book a Shore Hotel stay that includes a sandsculpting lesson from U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition honcho Raymond Karch. "(T)ricks of the trade" and the building of "an award-winning sandcastle" will be taught by Mr. Karch, so come ready to learn (and to get sandy soles). Need more on this whimsical getaway, which is running for a few weeks during the upcoming spring season? Follow the tide this way.
