It was only last November that Peter Bahlawanian and wife Bronwen Tawse opened Spice Station in Silver Lake’s Sunset Junction. Now the couple is opening a similar spice emporium at 2305 Main Street in Santa Monica. The Westside outpost will be similar to the Silver Lake original, and will house distinct organic and tea sections, and no outdoor space. Bahlawanian and Tawse hope to open by Memorial Day.
The couple has been making improvements to the original Spice Station that will allow them to host events and parties. They also took over the adjacent cottage yesterday, which will primarily house tea. They plan to offer self-serve tea, including iced tea for the summer. They plan to reopen in Silver Lake on Wednesday.
