Starry Role: Freida Pinto May Be Fond of “Bond”

...Oh, one could get a film scholar talking about the Bond girls for the better half of the day. The names -- Strawberry Fields, Dr. Christmas Jones -- are a good jumping-off point. The fashion-forward get-ups. Talents that include knowing five languages and how to kick a baddie in the side of the head while balancing in stilettos. That looks and fantasy play huge roles -- and that loving Bond sometimes means an untimely conclusion (Jezebel points out that every lady who has romanced Daniel Craig's spy has ended in the end).

It's a fabled role, and one that makes headlines once it is filled. And The Sun newspaper and EW are saying Freida Pinto of "Slumdog Millionaire" may star in 007's next outing. As Bond buffs, we're chuffed. As movie fans, we're happy. Ms. Pinto is quite obviously going to be offered some very splashy roles (or already has been); joining a club with members like Jane Seymour, Ursula Andress, and Halle Berry seems pretty big time.

In other starry tales...

...Ashton Kutcher knows his nuptials.

...Zac Efron is not bringing home the (Kevin) Bacon.

..."Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke, who is famously *not* directing "New Moon," is back with the company behind the "Twilight" films.
