Starry Sum-Up: Eliza Dushku Joins PaleyFest

Many people work in television here in town, but scads more around the globe love it, live for it, and that's why PaleyFest, the Paley Center for Media's annual tip of the hat to the small screen, is such hot stuff. We're not indulging in hyperbole here, something we're inclined to do too often. We attended the "Freaks & Geeks" night a few years back and found the star wattage to be impressively high and the behind-the-scenes info interesting.

We'll try to sum up PaleyFest in as short a time as a commercial break takes. Basically the casts and creators of top shows, past and present, are invited to the Cinerama Dome to chitchat; each series gets its own night. This year, the cast of "Dollhouse" -- including Eliza Dushku -- is on the sked. Joss Whedon, Dollhouse's creator, will also be attending the "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along" night, as well. Other shows getting the shout-out include "90210," "True Blood," "Desperate Housewives," "Battlestar Galactica," "The Hills," and "Big Love" -- wow. A feast for the follower of primetime goodness.

It's all happening in April. Check the full roster and get your tickets sooner than later. We mean this. Early works here.

More starry sum-up...

...Jake Gyllenhaal goes hip-hop. And there's video. And Opie is involved.

...the critics continue to take on Gwyneth Paltrow, and Gwyneth Paltrow continues to take on the critics. Not over a film or fashion choice, but GOOP, her lifestyle web site. Note to Gwyneth: Just keep on keepin' on. We liked the recent Paris edition. Our thought: we know the lady's been to most of these places; we've seen her photographed at swank spots around the globe. Why shouldn't she write about 'em if she wants? There've probably been few travel writers who've stayed and dined where the actress has as regularly.
