It really has been Anvil's spring, or more like year. Let's hope the adulation keeps building for the heavy metal band that rose to stadium-filling acclaim back in the '80s only to see their musical aspirations, and achievements, peel away, little by little, over the decades that followed.
But ever since the release of the documentary "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" debuted a couple of months back, the act is back in the headlines, back in the hearts of fans, back whipping up very loud, driving metal mayhem. And they're popping up after screenings to deliver some hardcore, straight-to-the-solar-plexus notes.
One such screening is the 8PM show on Monday, June 1 at the Regency Fairfax Cinemas. Lips Kudlow, Robb Reiner and the dudes will be rocking after their documentary, and we're betting even CBS and Farmers Market may feel the throb. Hope the tar pits don't bubble over! We jest.
