Talking Taco: Wahoo's Turns 20 with a Sweet Deal

If you've ever had a Wahoo's taco, the corny flakiness of the tortilla probably instantly comes to mind. Or those almost crunchy white beans that, though served on the side, would make a meal on their own. And we will wax on about the restaurant's creamy salad topping for several minutes.

Wahoo's, the sunny, be-stickered, surfy, skateboarder-loving fish joint that has become a SoCal staple, is marking 20 years of rolling lettuce and guac and blackened fish into those corn-perfect tortillas with a party at its Costa Mesa shop. What's the deal? This location is offering fish tacos for 20 cents a pop from 10AM-3PM on Sunday, February 22. Skateboard star Ryan Sheckler is showing. And surprise giveaways are promised for the first 200 taco buffs who show.

Time to start digging around the change jar or cushions for dimes, because five tacos for a dollar is righteous. The mere thought of it almost makes us forget that creamy-good dressing we'd drink straight from a cup if we thought we could get away with it. Tacos, when inserted into the right place in the brain, possess some sort of wicked awesome magical power.
