Taste of the Town

LOCATION x 3: As sayings go "location, location, location" isn't bad. In fact, it is usually spot on, which is possibly one reason it gets trotted out so often. And when it comes to Santa Barbara and cuisine, the tried-and-true-ism certainly applies (in fact, one could easily add about twelve more "locations" onto the original string of three.) Our American Riviera happens to be situated between the ocean and some very fertile hills and valleys, meaning seafood and wine and everything that isn't seafood or wine, just about. And many of those delicacies will be out for the sampling at Taste of the Town, which is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, Sept. 11.

BRIGHT BILLING: It's billed as "Santa Barbara's original tasting event," which is certainly nothing to sniff at. And that big billing means a lot of local wineries and restaurants will show. Many, many, many, in fact. Foley Estates, Sanford Winery, and Aldo's are on the list, which is lengthy; eye it yourself. Price is a hundred bucks ahead of time, place is Riviera Park Gardens, and time is noon to 3 p.m.
