They're not outfitted in what they're told they should be wearing, they're drop-dead gorgeous, whip smart and doing their own thing. They're the Suicide Girls, a group of women who started a very alt-y, tattoo-licious, photograph-heavy web site that shot straight to the moon (translation, according the the Girls: five million unique visitors a month, which is h-o-t hot in internet-land).
Now the Girls have a book on looks -- "Suicide Girls: Beauty Redefined" -- and they're livening up the usual literary to-do with a colorful kick-off at Meltdown Comics. "Beauty Redefined" is a biggin; expect 300+ pages packed with pin-ups and pretty pics. We're guessing the Girls who attend the signing will look as if they've just stepped from a photo shoot; they always do it up and do it up spectacularly in vinyls, boots, ribbons and tats galore.
Other items from the SG collection -- clothing and doodads -- will be for sale at the event. A little something for Great Aunt Lulu for Christmas, perhaps? We know some very anti-establishment aunties who could so work a studded anklet.
