Today we learned from Daily Dish that Jeremy Fox from Ubuntu was probably just in LA visiting friends and NOT scouting for a new restaurant site, or was he? We're not totally convinced that he is not seriously thinking of heading down south for his next venture now that he is gone from the popular vegetarian eatery. We'll keep you posted and stay on top of the latest developments. Daily Dish

What did happen today in local news: Nguyen and Thi Tran opened Starry Kitchen downtown in the California Plaza courtyard with a their eclectic pan-Asian specialties. Also downtown, Happy Birthday to Varnish at Cole's (originators of the French dip sandwich) who are celebrating one year tomorrow.

Things we are looking forward to seeing on Thursday in the LA Weekly: Jonathan Gold's special edition of "99 Things to Eat in L.A. Before You Die."
