The Fempire Strikes Back

The "Star Wars' burlesque night returns, for a good cause.

That upcoming Quentin Tarantino-esque burlesque show has definitely crossed our mind a dozen times in recent weeks. Because. The possibilities. The costumes. Uma Thurman's "Pulp Fiction" wig. Monday Night Tease is presenting, and it is on Aug. 23, if you want to mark your calendars.

But there are other pop culture phenoms well worth saluting through saucy dance. Take "Star Wars"; burlesque star Courtney Cruz shimmied her way through Storm-Trooper-y moves back in March at the Music Box @ Fonda.

Now Ms. Cruz returns with "The Fempire Strikes Back"; how much do we want to see a certain small wise teacher tributed? Much. The date is Saturday, July 10, the place is once again Music Box @ Fonda, and the night benefits the Busted Foundation, which helps those dealing with breast cancer deal with their bills (among many other things it supports).

"The Fempire Strikes Back: A Galactic Burlesque Parody" is nearly sold out, says someone who knows on the Twitter. Get your tickets now. General is $20.
