BRAVO, BAYFRONT: We like a spa with a sense of humor. And we like when the hotel where the spa is located appreciates it. And we like Comic-Con International, and we certainly like to see San Diego businesses change it up a bit when the mega pop-culture-a-thon unfurls every July. And definitely changing it up a bit? Spa Aquazul at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. It has several treatments going that, shall we say, have a certain eau de Comic-Con-i-ness to them.
MONSTER MANICURE: A Werewolf Claw Treatment is being offered for nails. A massage called Catwoman's Back Scratch is on the menu. And the Avoid Looking Like the Walking Dead Facial Treatment probably needs no explanation. The prices are reasonable -- there are a handful of treatments for $49 -- and the vision has some cheek. Should more places focused on cheeks and other body parts incorporate some cheek-o-sity into their business plans? Oh for sure. Props to the Beverly Hilton for word on these whimsical specials.
