The Dish: Bardot, Johnnie's New York Pizzeria, Frogo, Yogiyo

HOLLYWOOD: Although a few outlets announced it opened a few weeks ago, Bardot (the former Spider Club above the Avalon theater) needed to be retooled and finally debuts this Saturday. Jared Simons, the chef/owner of now shuttered Violet, worked the small plates menu (what he calls "Promiscuous Dining"). Steve Adelman and John Lyons partnered with the people who brought jazz and rock nights to the Green Door. We're not sure if it still has that whole Moroccan thing going for it, but it will probably have the same vibe: Exclusive lists to get in, loungey, lots of celebrities and Hills filming. DOWNTOWN: A new outpost of Johnnie's New York Pizza opened at the Water Park at Cal Plaza this week, per Angelenic. And remember: Just because a pizza place puts "New York" in the name, doesn't necessarily make it real NY-style pizza. [350 S Grand Ave, 213.613.9972; website]

CULVER CITY: That Yogiyo froyo place that, in an effort to not look like a direct Pinkberry knock-off, carefully explained their logo, name, etc. finally opened in the CVS/Office Max complex on Venice across from Culver. Big "grand opening" signage currently flapping in the breeze. [8985 Venice Boulevard, 310.559.3889; website]

SANTA MONICA: This probably opened a couple months ago, but when we recently passed Frogo Yogurt there was still a "grand opening" banner flapping in the wind. Organic coffees and teas, fre wifi, four or so yogurt flavors and the obligatory toppings. [1300 Wilshire Blvd, 310.395.6794]For more stories from Eater LA, go to la.eater.com.
