The Dish: Blu LA Cafe, Caffe Luxxe, Sunset Marquis

Here we are at the regular Dish Report, news on all the recent debuts around town. See something open that we missed? Do drop us a line.

Signage almost looks fake [Angelenic]

1) Downtown: Via Angelenic, Blu LA Cafe opens on the ground floor of the Pacific Electric Lofts on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The entrance is right next to Cole's but has separate owners; the cafe will serve American classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner. [126 E 6th St, 213.488.2088; website]

2) Brentwood: According to Food GPS, that second outpost of Caffe Luxxe (original is in Santa Monica) opened in the former Dutton's bookstore today. However, the phone number from information is a disconnected line. It's a gamble. [11975 San Vicente Blvd; website]

3) West Hollywood: Zagat has news that the uber-exclusive Sunset Marquis hotel opened its restaurant (yes, to the public) about six weeks ago. Still just called the Sunset Marquis Restaurant. Limited details, but the indoor/outdoor space overlooks the pond and waterfall and is open from breakfast through dinner. Menu sounds like it covers the hotel-dining basics (burgers, pasta, salads at lunch, and seafood, steaks, risotto at dinner). Sounds like a far cry from the celery stick and supermodel jokes currently on the website. [1200 Alta Loma Rd., 310.657.1333; website]For more stories from Eater LA, go to la.eater.com.
