Tonight: An Evening with Cassandra Wilson

The jazz great talks about her new album "Silver Pony."

CASSANDRA WILSON: The jazzy chanteuse performed at last year's Grammy Salute to Jazz at nearby Club Nokia, so her visit to the Grammy Museum will be a homecoming of sorts. Ms. Wilson has a very new album called "Silver Pony," and that exquisite voice. She'll be singing, of course, but also talking about her new work, too. 8 p.m.

DOWNTOWN LA ART WALK: Not far from the Grammy Museum, and happening over a good stretch of time, so could you attend both Ms. Wilson's show and a bevy of gallery openings? You could. The blog says a "festive spirit" will prevail; we also like the new and oh-so-handy map that is now on the Art Walk blog.

LOS ANGELES DE TANGO OPENS: If "learn the tango" is on your list, the one you keep on the fridge, or in a journal, this might be a fine festival to look into. There are beginner classes -- check the schedule -- and bet there will be many top tango dancers showing their struts at the Radisson in Culver City. Nov. 11-14
