Tonight: ArcLight's Holiday Movies Begin

Red Ryder dreams and really, really cold poles.

"A CHRISTMAS STORY": The Ralphie-thon plays at ArcLight Hollywood tonight, but that's not the only candy-flavored lolly in the cinematic stocking; the ArcLights will be showing a whole toy train full of seasonal delights over the next few days. Remember how the trio of theaters was doing sports movies on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays a few months back? Now its a quartet of theaters, and Wednesday night'll be doubled-up on the theme movie front. Details.

LISA RINNA AND HARRY HAMLIN: The actors each have a new book out: Ms. Rinna's fictional "Starlit" delves into Tinseltowny territory, while Mr. Hamlin's "Full Frontal Nudity: The Making of an Accidental Actor" walks a memoirish road. They're both signing at Vroman's tonight. (Can't end without saying: Perseus! Yes. Wish Bubo the owl would make a cameo, too.)

"HEAT": It's a serious-minded sprawler of a Michael Mann film that very much spotlights our own city. New Beverly has it tonight, Pacino stars, De Niro stars. You'll probably want to go eat at Kate Mantilini before the screening, right? Just a short drive away, really.
