Tonight: Norah Jones at the Orpheum

The hit-maker continues to rise with "The Fall."

NORAH JONES: The jazzy chanteuse behind the mega-hit "Come Away With Me" has a new-as-of-last-fall album called "The Fall," and a show tonight at the Orpheum. It's sold out, and if you don't have tickets, it looks like San Diego's gig, which is tomorrow night, has seats available.

THE THIRSTY CROW: Stinkers, that truck'd-out saloon that made a roadside splash in Silver Lake a few years back, is gone. But in its space is this new tavern. The namesake drink, a citrus-y ka-pow concoction, sounds just right for a spring night. If only the spring nights would act like spring nights and warm up.

GOOD MOVIES: "Five Easy Pieces" begins a week-long run at the NuArt. Thinking now of a mouthy, mad-eyed Jack Nicholson in the diner. Plus, some pre-code Frank Capra excitement is going down over at with Cinefamily. Pre-code=homina. Barbara Stanwyck is beyond dish, and full of power.
