Topshop Expanding, Eyeing Los Angeles

Yesterday, The Feast Shop Chicago caught up with Topman Design Director Gordan Richardson to talk fall trends in menswear. The occasion: The iconic British retailer Topshop/Topman opens its second U.S. flagship store in Chicago in September. Nearly two years after entering the U.S. market with a store in Manhattan's Soho neighborhood, the trendy British retailer Topshop is hoping to open even more stateside stores this year.

Sir Philip Green, the owner of Arcadia Group, parent company of Topshop and its men’s sibling, Topman, continues to scout sites for future U.S. stores, including locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Arizona. According to WWD, he would like to have eight to 10 U.S. Topshops within the next two years. In 2010, a deal for a Santa Monica Topshop fell through just before the new year.

Topshop has made waves in recent years with its Kate Moss for Topshop collections, along with lines by designers including Jonathan Saunders and Christopher Kane. Green is currently rumored to be courting pop singer Rihanna to design a collection.
