Tour Palm Spring's Historic Inns

Visitors walk through Palm Springs historic past

Grab some walking shoes and peer into Palm Springs past, as seen through its Inns. The cities historic hotels will be open for public tours today as part of the annual "Walk of Inns."

"Locals and visitors alike love this annual walk, and its a wonderful way to learn more about Palm Springs' historic past," said Mary Jo Ginther, the city's director of the Bureau of Tourism.

The event will take place along Palm Canyon Drive, Tahquitz Canyon Way and Ramon starting at 5 p.m., said city spokeswoman Amy Blaisdell.

The self-guided tour can begin at any of the hotels or at the Palm Springs Art Museum, 101 Museum Way, which will provide free maps and flashlights for the walk.

Inns participating in the event include the Andalusian Court and Spa Villas, Casa Cody, Calla Lily Inn, Coyote Inn, Del Marcos Hotel, Korakia Pensione, Old Ranch Inn, Orbit Inn, Palm Mountain Resort and Spa, the Palm Springs Tennis Club and the Viceroy.
