Weekend: Food Trucks, Wine Fests, Guide Dog Open House

The gastro go-outs are numerous and tasty, and Sylmar-based Guide Dogs of America shows you how they earn their vests

FOOD TRUCKS GALORE: They are everywhere, serving savory snackables in paper cups, but two notable spots to find them at in the coming days are Hollywood Park (Calbi and Maui Wowi are two of the trucks slated to show) on Saturday, June 11 and LA State Historic Park, also on Saturday, June 11. One additional note. The U2 tribute band rocking Hollywood Park on Friday, June 10 is said to be Bono-riffic. Translation? Quite excellent.

LA PRIDE: There are always so many great to-dos happening during the annual June celebration, but you probably definitely should know that skater Johnny Weir is this year's Grand Marshal. Oh yeah. There will be other celeb sightings, of course, the parade, and good times. June 10 through 12 in West Hollywood

LA GREEK FILM FESTIVAL: A bevy of new films from Greece and the dedicated people at their helms are at the center of this West Hollywood-based cineparty (as well as panels and award presentations, too). "Pelican's Watch," which celebrates the art of winemaking, is the opening night film. Thursday, June 9 through Sunday, June 12

WINE FESTIVALS: The Ojai Wine Festival is turning 25 in 2011 with a Lake Casitas-close party. Ojai's pretty close to some wineries, right? We josh. They'll be out in flavorful force on Sunday, June 12. And LA Wine Fest is back at Raleigh Studios for both days of the weekend. There's a special Mondavi Discover Wine tour, too.

GUIDE DOGS OPEN HOUSE: If you've ever considered raising a puppy for Guide Dogs of America, or getting involved or donating to the organization, we recommend getting to Sylmar on Saturday, June 11. The organization will be holding an info fair, and smarty pups will show off their awesome training mojo.
