What You're Doing This Weekend: June 19th-21st

MARIACHI USA FESTIVAL: Guitars, horns, and a host of mariachi groups play under the shell at the Hollywood Bowl. If we could put in a request we'd love to hear "De Colores," but the site says to expect some 200 songs in all. We're already stirred. Saturday, June 20th, Hollywood Bowl

FATHER'S DAY TO-DOS: If Daddy likes Santigold, or weird cars, or over-the-top brunches, or hang gliding, there's something for the two of you to do on his special day. Eye the full list of go-outs for Sunday, June 21st.

BLACK CAT FESTIVAL: Lovely, ethereal absinthe. Lovely, magical belly dancing. Music -- "trip hop opera" is one set on the bill -- and loads of art and sartorial wonders to look upon. Saturday, June 20th, Black Cat Gallery

MOTHER ROAD: Motel signs, blinking neon, stories from the blacktop. Esotouric is hitting the road -- and when we say "the road" we mean THE road, as in Route 66 -- in search of stories, tales, strangeness, and adventure. A day-before Father's Day tour for the dad who likes kitschy culture, perhaps? Saturday, June 20th

PASADENA CHALK FESTIVAL: Two days, several hours, countless sticks of colorful chalk. Okay, maybe not countless; we'll take a random guess and say, um, 760? It's free, and it is at Paseo Colorado. Prepare to be wowed by the sidewalk-based art. June 20-21st
