What You're Doing Tonight: April 22nd

"HOMEMADE HOLLYWOOD: FANS BEHIND THE CAMERA": We're probably not alone in our fascination with fan fiction, fan filmdom, people who love a property so much they want to continue to story somehow, some way, even though they know they'll never make a profit. Author Clive Young has written a whole book on the fan film phenomenon, and he's appearing at the Hammer Museum to talk the let's-make-a-movie-(kind-of-like-that-other-movie) movement; he'll also be showing some clips as well. If you've ever wanted to rework "Return of the Jedi" with your guinea pig, your brother and your coworkers, or you just kind of heart the fabulous, sometimes messy but always interesting world of fandom in a big way, get to Westwood for the conversation. Wednesday, April 22, 7PM. The Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles. 310-443-7000

ALSO ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22: The Devil Wears Prada is at the Music Box at the Fonda; the Buster-based bliss continues at Silent Movie Theatre with Keaton's "Steamboat Bill, Jr."; and Queensryche is at HOB Anaheim (they'll be rocking LA on the 24th).
