What You're Doing Tonight: June 4th

"Breakdown" Boys: From the lads who brought you -- that's raucously brought you -- "Dookie" and "American Idiot" comes more punky-pop, more animated showstoppers, more more. Green Day just released "21st Century Breakdown" and is now on the road again. Music Box at the Fonda, 7:30PM

"Breakout" Gal & Guys: A big sigh for Swing Out Sister. What gamine-ish, bob-wearing girl in the late '80s/early '90s didn't aspire to be lead singer Corinne Drewery, with her severe bangs and the effortless way she strutted about fabulous European locales? SOS still leads the cocktail-cool pack on the jazz-pop front. El Rey, 8PM

Free Afternoon Flick: The Jules Verne Festival is putting on Thursday lunchtime movies, for free, at the Pocket Theatre at 7th and Figueroa. The celluloid gets spinning at noon. The movie on June 4: "Explorers: From the Titanic to the Moon." Sounds like an adventure-filled get-away-from-the-office jaunt. 12PM
