What You're Doing Tonight: March 14th

THE PINK FLOYD EXPERIENCE: Sometimes, life can feel lacking, especially in the long, moody riff, in big, prog-rock-y music streams, in musical flights of fancy that take one straight to the moon, and in gigantic floating pink pigs. We're happy, then, that this outfit, which has risen far above having "cover band" attached to its name, is there to resolve some of these issues for us. That the concert is at the highly visual, highly atmospheric Orpheum Theatre is a lovely bonus. Saturday, March 14. The Orpheum, 842 S. Broadway, Los Angeles. 213-480-3232

BANFF MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL: March can be filled with a bit of sweet sadness for people mad for mountains. Flowers are soon to come back to meadows, but the snows are melting, too, meaning winter sports are wrapping up for another season. However you like your mountain -- rocky and hot or icy and ready for skiing -- this traveling flick fest will have a treat. Extreme conditions, extreme climbers, and magnificent viewers are spotlighted. We say if you can't get up to one of your favorite peaks, or you just need a little mind vacation, head for Adventure 16 for tickets and John Adams Middle School for the show. March 14-15, 7PM. John Adams Middle School, 2425 16th Street, Santa Monica.

ALSO ON SATURDAY, MARCH 14: Pendulum swings into Club Nokia; the Standard Hotel throws its St. Patrick's-y "Kiss Me I'm Cool" pool party; and Who's Bad, billed as "#1 Michael Jackson Tribute Band" dons the sparkly glove at House of Blues Sunset Strip.
