BALLOON DROP TIME: When looking for a tony New Year's Eve getaway, various people have various needs. Us? We just want balloons to fall. A lot of balloons, and at the appropriate time, too. (Not on the "9, 8. 7" part, when someone gets too excited and pulls the rope.) But really, every balloon drop is a good one, and all too rare, which is one reason we're noting the Claremont's New Year's Eve party.
ALSO: There will be champagne, which is #2 after the balloons. This is part of the Claremont Party Package, which is $129/person, but note there are a few festive things going on around the Berkeley landmark on Dec. 31, 2010.
