Worth the Drive: Halloween at Caesars

Worth the Drive is NBCLA's twice weekly look at nearby getaways

Your job: Decide to get out of town and fast. Our job: Help you find where you're headed. This week, NBCLA's Worth the Drive takes us to...

Caesars Palace: The white, columned mini-city at the center of the Las Vegas Strip is marking Halloween 2009 in a very 2009-y way.

How? With its "Trick or Tweet" event, which rounds up fans who follow the hotel on Twitter.

Just Twitter fans? And Facebook, too.

The deal: Hop on Twitter, head for @CaesarsPalace, and check out the Halloween-weekend packages. Spa treatments, an in-room movie (the hotel of course suggests "The Hangover") and other giveaway-type stuff are part of the various offers. Deals begin at $175 a night.

More Twitter: Caesars will tweet about free drinks, eats, and other festive-goings-on during the holiday weekend; guests staying there only need to watch Twitter and then make haste for the locations tweeted.

All Hallow's Eve, Vegas-style: Yep, we've done it, and we weren't alone in our doing it. More not-alone than we've ever been in our lives. Sin City's become a Halloween destination, though some would say the Nevada play spot is pretty Halloween-y every day of the year. But come October 31st, you will see people, lots of them, and several truly eye-popping costumes. We're remembering a remarkable group of naughty nurses -- we think they were naughty zombie nurses? -- though it could have been our eyes adjusting to stepping out of the casino for the first time in 24 hours.
