A fire burning in the city of Goleta in Santa Barbara County forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes.
The "Holiday Fire" began Friday night and destroyed homes as the flames burned some 50 to 80 acres. By Saturday, around 3,200 residents had been forced from their homes, with the city declaring a local state of emergency as structures continued to be threatened.
