The deadly collision involved a motorcycle and at least two other vehicles, officials said.

One person was killed Wednesday evening in a multi-vehicle collision on the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway.

Officers received a call to respond to a collision involving a motorcycle and least two other vehicles at 9:43 p.m. on the freeway near Sand Canyon Road. Officers received additional information about loose gravel in all lanes, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos.

The cause of the collision wasn't immediately known, Villalobos said.

The age and gender of the deceased also weren't immediately available.

A member of the Los Angeles County coroner's office was en route to the scene as well as a Caltrans crew to clean up the gravel, he said.
