Homicide detectives were investigating the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy Saturday night in Bellflower, officials said.
The shooting occurred in the 16000 block of Bellflower Boulevard, at approximately 10:45pm, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
Detectives said the boy was standing on the street when a car drove up and a suspect inside began shooting at the teen, striking him multiple times. The vehicle, described as a newer model grey Honda, fled the scene northbound on Bellflower Boulevard, LASD said.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
