Mother, Daughter Found Dead in Monrovia Apartment, Suspect on the Run

Two female bodies belonging to a mother and daughter were discovered in a Monrovia apartment Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The bodies of an adult woman and a juvenile girl were discovered on the 800 block of West Colorado Boulevard in Monrovia, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department declaring the incident a murder investigation.

Police identified the outstanding suspect in the double murder as Nimrod Perez Guerrero, 33. Guerrero is described as 5-foot-8, 200 pounds and is possibly driving a 2014 Toyota Rav4 with California liscence plate 7FPB132, according to LASD.

Guerrero is believed to be armed and dangerous, according to police.

LA County Sheriff's lieutenant Derrick Alfred said that the Monrovia Police Department received a tip about an assault that took place at the location. When police investigated the location and climbed in through a window, they discovered the bodies of the mother and daughter, according to Alfred.

Superintendent Katherine Thorossian of the Monrovia Unified School District issued a statement confirming the death of the girl:

"The teachers, staff and students of Monrovia Unified School District are mourning tonight because of the loss of one of our Monrovia High School students. There is no question that a tragedy of this nature affects our entire community. It is difficult to process the death of anyone, much less someone so young and so promising. The District will have grief counselors available on campus to support students and staff as we all grapple with this terrible loss."
