Two people were killed and another was seriously injured after a vehicle fell of the 5 Freeway and crashed into a tree Saturday morning, authorities said.
The crash was reported around 5 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway near Paramount Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred when the vehicle drve off of the offramp at Paramount Boulevard and struck a tree.
Two victims, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. One female victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, according to the CHP.
Authorities were searching for additional, possible passengers who may have been in the vehicle before it crashed.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
