72-Year-Old Grandmother Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Glendale

A 72-year-old woman died in a hit-and-run crash in Glendale and police asked Saturday for witnesses or anyone with surveillance video of the crash to come forward.

The Glendale Police Department identified the deceased woman as Novar Ismailya, a Glendale resident, on Saturday.

Officers responded at 7:20 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard and Linden Avenue and located the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Sgt. Dan Suttles of the Glendale Police Department.

The area where the woman was struck was described as a "very dark'' portion of Glenoaks Boulevard, Suttles said.

Detectives have video of the woman walking in the area shortly before she was struck, but do not have video of the crash, Suttles said.

A description of the suspect or suspect's vehicle was not available, Suttles said.
