Gas Clerk Stabbed in Attempted Robbery Prompting Police Search

Police were still searching for the suspect Monday night.

A man working as a clerk at a Covina gas station was stabbed in an attempted robbery Monday, police said.

The suspect went into the 76 Station in the 600 block of South Barranca Avenue just before 5 p.m.

The clerk was stabbed as the suspect attempted to rob the store. It wasn’t immediately clear if the robber got away with any cash or items.

The robber took off in a dark-colored SUV driving south on Barranca Avenue.
