An 80-year-old wheelchair-bound man fell into a pool and drowned Saturday in Pomona, authorities said.
The fatal accident happened at 5:25 p.m. at 8 Los Coyotes Drive, according to Los Angeles Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo.
"The man fell in to the water and his family couldn't get him out right away," Marrujo said.
"We had a call for service at that location about an 80-year-old man who fell in the water," Pomona police Sgt. Anthony Catanese said. "We haven't gotten details yet from the scene, but it's my understanding the man drowned."
