8th Grade Teacher Faces Student Molest Charges

A 28-year-old teacher was arrested Friday in connection with sex misconduct charges at a Fullerton junior high school

In the wake of the arrest of a Fullerton junior high school teacher in a student molestation case, school officials are planning a community meeting Monday to discuss concerns.

A parent meeting has been scheduled at 6 p.m. Monday at Nicolas Junior High School.

The meeting is being held following the Friday arrest of Melissa Lindgren, 28, of La Mirada, in connection with sexually molesting at least one male student, authorities said.

Police were also investigating whether she molested a second male student, officials said.

She was booked at the Fullerton Police Department Jail and was released after posting $10,000 bail, Fullerton police Sgt. Jeff Stuart said.

The case came to light after two students reported the suspect to school officials.

When they learned of the case, school officials immediately notified Fullerton police and placed the suspect on administrative leave, officials said.
