Gunmen stole more than $40,000 worth of items Monday night from customers outside an Urth Caffe in West Hollywood.
The thieves approached a group of men by the restaurant at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday. Complying with their demands, the victims gave them jewelry and other items before the robbers ran north on Westmount Drive.
Multiple people called 911 to report the men running into an area that was under construction. Deputies set up a perimeter around the area, but were unable to find the gunmen, according to Sgt. Angel Fisher, the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station watch commander.
No injuries were reported. Detailed descriptions of the criminals were not immediately available.
