Up to five bodies may have been found Monday after a fire was doused in a Temecula home, prompting an investigation by Riverside County arson and homicide detectives, a source told NBC4 News.
The blaze was reported about 5 a.m. at a single-story residence in the 41400 block of Cruz Way, off of Calle Nopal, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Crews extinguished the flames within an hour, and while sifting through the burned-out property, discovered human remains.
A source close to the investigation said that up to five bodies were found. They hadn't been identified.
Sheriff's officials described the fire as suspicious, but no other details were disclosed.
The home was a licensed care facility for disabled adults.
Neighbors were shocked.
