Police Believe Armed Men Robbed 2 OC Businesses in Less Than 20 Minutes

Two armed men robbed a Chevron gas station early Saturday in Placentia and are believed to have robbed a Vons grocery store in Anaheim less than 20 minutes later, police said Saturday.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., the Placentia Police Department responded to a robbery in progress at a Chevron gas station at the corner of Orangethorpe Avenue and Monroe Way.

The two men flashed a firearm at an employee and demanded cash. They left with an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise.

Approximately 15 minutes later at a Vons grocery store in Anaheim, two armed men robbed the store in a similar pattern to the robbers who targeted the Chevron.

Anaheim police responded to a robbery around 1 a.m. at the store, located near the intersection of Imperial Highway and Santa Ana Canyon Road. The armed men fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported during either robbery.

The robbers had similar descriptions at both locations - two men between the ages of 20 to 30 wearing black hooded sweatshirts.
