Azusa Man Charged for Child Molestation

Victor Martinez, 48, took the victim to a parking lot, sexually molested her and ordered her not to tell anyone about the attack, prosecutors say

A man in Azusa has been charged with six felonies related to the sexual molestation of a 10-year-old-girl, officials said Friday.

On Monday, Victor Martinez, 48, took the victim to a parking lot, sexually molested her and ordered her not to tell anyone about the attack, according to a news release fom the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. The girl told her mother about the assault two days later.

Officials said Martinez was a friend of the girl's family, and she had gone with him to get some food.

He is charged with six felony counts including sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 years old or younger and lewd act upon a child, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said they also learned through the investigation that Martinez had previously molested the girl.

Martinez is being held on $1.2 million bail, and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
