Man, Woman Lead Pursuits in Stolen Lexus

A man and a woman were in custody after leading police on two pursuits in a stolen Lexus, prompting a search in a Beverly Hills neighborhood early Wednesday.

Police first spotted the stolen white Lexus at 12:34 a.m. in the area of Sunset Boulevard and Rexford Drive and lost the vehicle within a minute, according to Beverly Hills police Lt. Scott Dowling.

"We believe they went up in the hills," Dowling said.

The vehicle was spotted again shortly after 1 a.m. about two blocks away from where it was first seen and another short pursuit ensued. It ended in the area of Sunset Boulevard and Copley Drive where the pair abandoned the car, Dowling said.

The woman was taken into custody about a block away and the man was found hiding by a police dog, Dowling said.

No injuries were reported.
