Butane Honey Oil Lab Bust in Santa Clarita Home

A major butane honey oil lab was discovered in a home in the quiet neighborhood of Santa Clarita in which almost every single room in the house was set up as a drug lab, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday.

Deputies made the bust at the home in the 24400 block of Shadeland Drive in Newhall after serving a search warrant.

Thousands of empty butane cans were found along with 50-100 full cans.

The bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room and back patio were all set up as drug labs, deputies said.

Only one room was not dedicated to the production of the oil that is a strong concentration of marijuana.

One man was arrested in the raid.

Detectives said the labs are dangerous because one in five blow up.

They said the site that they were clearing was safe.
