Fill Up Soon to Avoid Higher Gas Prices

Gas prices continue to rise. As predicted in Tuesday's gas price forecast, prices jumped a nickel a gallon this week. Prices in the past week ranged from less than $2.10 a gallon to as high as $2.70 a gallon.

An expert at U-CAN predicts gas prices in Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties will continue to increase between 3 and 7 cents a gallon by Tuesday morning. U-CAN says part of the reason for higher prices is that refineries must now reformulate their gasoline to a lighter spring blend to comply with state regulations. That process reduces supply and pushes prices highter.

Consumers are advised to fill up Friday and Saturday; if you need to wait, shop around for the best deals on Sunday and Monday.
