While the World Cup takes place in Russia during June and July, an exhibition in Los Angeles will highlight the best moments in the history of the event that grips the globe every four years.
Those interested in learning about "The Wold Cup's Greatest Moments" should take a trip to one of the least likely places one would expect to see a sports exhibition: the Forest Lawn Cemetery of Glendale.
The cemetery has a museum that has already hosted exhibitions of all kinds, and its organizers wanted to take the opportunity of holding this global event to highlight the history of it.
"GOOOOL! The World Cup's Greatest Moments" includes images, t-shirts, soccer balls, medals, tickets and other objects of this sport, as well as 15 t-shirts of renowned FIFA players from the 1920s to 2010.
"In countries like the United States, where every nationality is represented, millions of football fans of all ages and backgrounds are inspired by the dedication and passion of the players of the world, who are a great source of local, regional and national pride," said Ana Pescador, director of the Forest Lawn Museum. "It transcends our different customs, cultures and politics."
"This exhibition demonstrates why football is the most popular sport in the world, an obsession and international tradition that unites families, friends and rivals, especially every four years during the FIFA World Cup since 1930."
The exhibition is sponsored by the FIFA World Football Museum, based in Zurich, Switzerland and will be open until Sept. 16.

The museum, located at 1712 S. Glendale Blvd., in Glendale, is open Tuesday through Sunday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Entrance to the museum and parking is free.
