Authorities say a driver has been arrested on suspicion of striking a group of children and pinning them against an ice cream truck in central California, killing a 3-year-old girl and injuring two youngsters.
California Highway Patrol Sgt. Chris Boudreaux says the man backed up his sedan and drove away after the crash, which was reported around 6 p.m. Sunday in Porterville.
Boudreaux tells the Fresno Bee that officers found the suspect hiding in a backyard near the crash scene and arrested him.
