CHP Airplane Helps Nab High-Speeding, Stunt-Performing Motorcyclist

Police were able to arrest a stunt-performing and high-speeding motorcyclist with the help of a California Highway Patrol airplane.

The CHP plane at about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday spotted a motorcyclist traveling between 100 to 120 mph on eastbound Interstate 580, just east of the MacArthur Maze, in Oakland.

Officials said the plane followed the motorcyclist down the freeway and observed the rider doing wheelies and other stunts on the bike.

The motorcyclist eventually drove to his residence in San Leandro, where he parked the motorcycle and went inside. CHP Oakland officers responded to the residence within minutes.

The rider, Corey McDonah, was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, police said. He was booked into the North County jail.
