Kink.com Protesters Still Imprisoned; Activists Demand Release

Three "queer" protesters who crashed Kink.com's Pride party Saturday are in jail.

The protest is over, but some protesters are still in jail.

Three of the LGBT activists -- members of Gay Shame San Francisco -- arrested following an action outside Kink.com's Pride party on Saturday night are still in custody, according to the San Francisco Examiner.

The newspaper reported that the activists were incensed about Kink.com's theme -- a "prison party" that demeaned the real struggle of those "victimized by the criminal justice system."

Seven protesters were arrested Saturday by police.

Gay Shame members had called on Kink to cancel the "prison party " prior to marching upon Kink.com's Mission District headquarters, according to the Examiner.

A Kink spokesman says that the protesters pelted partygoers with fruit and vegetables. Protesters said that police arrived after the protest had ended and began arresting people at a nearby BART station.

Prisca Carpenter, Rebecca Ruiz Lichter and Sarai Robles-Mendez were all still in custody Monday on felony charges.
