Man Beaten, Stabbed at Gas Station Near San Diego State

A man was stabbed and beaten inside an Arco Gas Station near San Diego State University late Saturday night and the suspects returned to the scene of the crime while officers were there, police said.

The 29-year-old victim was involved in another altercation and walked into the Arco Station shortly before 10 p.m. to ask the employee there to call the police, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.

While the victim was in the store, two men, identified as Milton Lewis, 57, and Abdul Mohammad, 25, walked in started to beat the victim, Heims said.

During the beating, the 29-year-old man was stabbed twice, once in the back and once in the arm, he said. The suspects then fled the scene.

While officers were at the store, Lewis and Mohammad returned to the scene and were arrested. Lewis was identified as the suspect who stabbed the victim and Mohammad was the one who beat him, Heims said.

The victim's injuries were non-life-threatening and he was not transported to the hospital, Heims said.
